Shower Curtain Climber: Bathroom Mountain

Published on August 22, 2026
The shower curtain looked like a mountain range, and your elf packed for a summit they will never reach. Clip them to a hook or sit them on the tub corner with both hands on the curtain. It is a two-minute bathroom surprise, which is extra funny because nobody expects mountaineering before toothpaste. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Keep the tub dry, do not stand on the slick tub edge to pose the elf, and hang the elf from a shower ring rather than balancing on wet porcelain.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A shower curtain and rings
- • A dry bathtub
- • A washcloth as a climbing flag
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Dry the mountain
Wait until the tub is dry, or towel the ledge you will use. Pull the curtain closed so it hangs like a cliff face. Keep bath toys in the caddy so they do not look like they are falling too.
Step 2: Pick a safe hold
Use a shower ring or the curtain’s reinforced hole as a handhold. Sit on the bath mat, not the tub edge, while you pose. A washcloth clipped to a ring can be a flag without wet fabric on the elf.
Step 3: Hang the climber
Hook an elf arm over a shower ring, or sit them on a dry corner of the tub with both hands grabbing the curtain. Do not tape the doll to the vinyl. Face them toward the bathroom door.
Step 4: Leave a trail note
Write “Summit closed. Tub is slippery.” on a sticky note and stick it to the mirror. In the morning, let kids “rescue” the climber onto the bath mat, then keep the curtain inside the tub so it does not drip on the floor. Skip this on a school morning if someone needs a shower first.
Pro Tips:
- • A fabric curtain with rings is easier to hang an elf from than a slick liner alone.
- • Pose from the bath mat so you never stand on the tub edge.
- • A bright washcloth flag shows up in dim bathroom light.
- • If the curtain is a liner only, sit the elf on the toilet tank reaching toward the curtain instead.
