Patience is hard when you are made of felt. Your elf pried tomorrow’s advent door open a smidge, then sat down like a guilty lookout. Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Find tomorrow only
Open tomorrow’s door a finger-width, not today’s and not the rest of December. If the calendar is cardboard, crease gently. If it is a fill-your-own, leave the treat seated.
Step 2: Leave the candy in
Do not unwrap, unseat, or taste anything. The peek is visual. If a piece would fall, shut the door and pick a different day that stays put.
Step 3: Post the guilty lookout
Sit your elf in front of the cracked door with both hands up. The “I was just checking” pose is the whole story. Keep other doors closed.
Step 4: Let kids play detective
In the morning, they can shut tomorrow again or keep the spoiler. You still do not eat the candy. If your calendar is the chocolate kind, this gag works even better with a paper insert calendar.
