Health inspection hit the hottest restaurant in the house: the air fryer. Your elf is on the counter peering into a half-open basket like last night’s fries might still be in there. The appliance stays cold and unplugged, and the doll stays out of the bucket. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Confirm cold and unplugged
Unplug the air fryer and wait until the basket is cool to the touch. If dinner just finished, this gag waits. Warm metal plus a felt hat is a bad morning.
Step 2: Crack the basket
Pull the basket halfway out so it looks like an inspection in progress. Leave crumbs if they are already there, or wipe if you would rather not. Do not turn the machine on for “ambience.”
Step 3: Look in from the counter
Stand your elf on the counter beside the drawer, leaning to look in. Do not sit the doll in the basket, on the heating element, or under the door. Hands on the basket rim sell the bit.
Step 4: Close it before breakfast cooking
In the morning, pack the elf before anyone preheats leftovers. Slide the basket home. If you need the air fryer at 7 a.m., set this on a night you can spare the counter.
