Packing Tape Race: Dispenser Drag Car

Someone in shipping went full NASCAR. Your elf is behind a packing-tape dispenser like it is a dragster waiting for the green light. Kids will make engine noises before they ask where the race is going, and you will not have to peel tape off felt. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Do not tape the doll to the dispenser, the table, or anything else; pose only.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A table
- • A packing-tape dispenser
- • A sticky-note finish line
- • Optional: posable boy elf if you want a posable driver who can grip the dispenser like a drag car without needing tape on the doll.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Clear a racetrack
Wipe a length of table so the dispenser can sit like a car. This is not wrapping paper night, so leave the gift wrap in the closet. Keep the cutter facing away from little fingers.
Step 2: Park the drag car
Set the dispenser on its side or in its usual stance, whichever looks more like a vehicle. A sticky-note number on the side is optional. Do not pull a spiderweb of tape across the table.
Step 3: Seat the driver without tape
Sit your elf behind or beside the dispenser with hands on the roll. Do not tape the doll, the hat, or the legs. Poseable arms are enough to look strapped in.
Step 4: Add a finish line, not a trap
Stick a paper finish line to the table, not a tape barrier. In the morning, kids can “race” the dispenser six inches. Put the tape back in the junk drawer before anyone wraps a real box.
