Whisk Helicopter: Mug Helipad

Published on September 30, 2026
The kitchen counter is a tiny airport. Your elf parked a whisk in a mug, the wires are the blades, and someone is going to yell “whoosh” before breakfast. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Leave the real mixer unplugged and keep the whisk off a hot burner.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A clean kitchen whisk
- • One sturdy mug
- • A clear patch of counter
- • Optional: posable holiday elf if you want hands and feet that can hold the pose.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Clear the helipad
Wipe a dinner-plate patch of counter and set one dry mug in the middle. Move knives and the real mixer out of the shot.
Step 2: Park the rotor
Rest the whisk handle in the mug so the wire head sticks out like spinning blades. A flat whisk works. A balloon whisk looks even more like a helicopter.
Step 3: Seat the pilot
Sit the elf beside the mug with one hand on the handle, like they just landed. Knees bent. Hat still on. Big smile.
Step 4: Leave the landing note
Stick a note on the mug that says “Whoosh! I landed!” Do not turn the mixer on for the photo.
Pro Tips:
- • A balloon whisk reads more like a helicopter than a flat one.
- • An empty mug is the helipad. Skip leftover coffee.
- • Shoot from counter height so the whisk looks huge.
- • Put the whisk back in the crock before anyone cooks.
