Keep small cards and play-money bills away from toddlers. Sit the elf at the table. Put loose pieces back in the box after the photo if anyone under three is in the house.
You Will Need This:
- Your holiday elf
- One board game that uses bills or cards
- A short stack of play money or a small pile of cards
- The table or the coffee table
- Optional: the game's bank tray if it has one
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Set the bank
Open the box on the table. Pull out the bills or the cards only. Leave the board in the box if you do not want a full setup. You are not playing a full game at midnight.
Step 2: Pose the elf
Sit the posable elf behind the stack, hands on the bills, as if they are counting. They are the banker, not a piece on the board.
Step 3: Add the tiny details
A "Bank is open" note is enough. Do not dump every token. Do not add a jigsaw. Do not deal a poker night.
Step 4: When kids find it
They find it on a weekend morning or after school. Put small pieces away after they see it if a toddler will join the table.
