The baking drawer became a big top. Your elf is in a cupcake liner like a ringmaster, and the rest of the liners are tents waiting for the next act. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Use unused liners, keep them off a hot oven, and skip this if a toddler still puts paper in their mouth.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A stack of cupcake liners
- • A muffin tin or plate
- • Optional: mini baking set if you want a tiny tray already set for the circus snacks.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Open the big top
Fluff one liner into a wide bowl shape and set it in a muffin tin well. That is the center ring.
Step 2: Seat the ringmaster
Sit the elf inside with arms wide like they are introducing the next act. Kids will immediately assign the dog a role.
Step 3: Stack tent liners
Nest two more liners nearby as smaller tents. A little village of paper cups looks like a touring circus, not a baking mess.
Step 4: Add a sprinkle “audience”
If you have sprinkles, put five on the tin like a crowd, then wipe them up. Without sprinkles, a few chocolate chips still read as spectators.

- • Foil liners hold a rounder tent than paper ones.
- • A toothpick flag in a second liner is a great extra; watch little hands.
- • Do this the night before you actually bake cupcakes.
- • Keep the real muffin batter in the fridge so nobody “helps” the circus.
