Dryer Sheet Sled: Laundry Room Slide

The laundry room opened a ski hill, and the sled is a dryer sheet. Your elf is mid-run, looking like they trained on fabric softener and hope. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Keep unused dryer sheets away from toddlers and pets who chew, and do not run the dryer during the scene.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A dryer sheet
- • A laundry basket or dryer door as a ramp
- • Optional: tiny flyer sled if you want that scene already set. Household safety still applies.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Build a tiny ramp
Lean a laundry basket on its side or use the open dryer door as a slope. Kids see winter sports in the most boring room in the house.
Step 2: Fold the sled
Fold a fresh dryer sheet in half so it is a little stiffer. Fresh sheets look like snow; used ones look like trash.
Step 3: Seat the racer
Sit the elf on the sheet halfway down the ramp, leaning back. Mid-sled is the photo; the finish line can wait.
Step 4: Pile a sock snowbank
Set two rolled socks at the bottom as a crash barrier. Kids will immediately try the course with actual socks, which is still better than folding.
Pro Tips:
- • Unscented sheets are kinder if anyone is fragrance-sensitive.
- • Do this while a load is already clean so you are not staging on dirty laundry.
- • A clothespin “brake” on the sheet is a cute extra.
- • Toss the sheet in the actual dryer after so it does not become floor litter.
