Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Unplug the unit
Pull the humidifier cord from the wall before you touch the elf. Electricity plus water is not a comedy sketch. If someone in the house needs humidity overnight, skip this gag or use a different room.
Step 2: Empty the tank
Dump the tank in the sink and dry the lid. A wet unit is a slip and a shock risk. Set the empty tank back so the machine still looks like itself.
