Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Spread the picnic blanket
Lay a placemat in the middle of the dining table, not at someone’s usual breakfast seat if that will cause a fight. Smooth it flat so cups will not tip. A checked or colorful mat reads as a picnic faster than a plain one.
Step 2: Set a tiny lunch
Set a small plate, a napkin, and an empty cup on the mat. Add a few pretzels, cereal pieces, or grapes if you want real food, or keep it empty if you have toddlers. A bottle cap can be a tiny bowl if you do not have mini dishes.
Step 3: Seat the picnicker
