Cutting Board Checkpoint: Snack Prep Guard

Snack prep now has a checkpoint, and the guard is very small. Your elf is on the cutting board inspecting apple slices like contraband. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Put every knife away first and use a clean board with kid-safe snacks only, no raw meat.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • A clean cutting board
- • A few apple slices, crackers, or grapes (cut for age)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Clear the knives
Put blades in the block or dishwasher before you start. The scene is snacks, not a cooking show.
Step 2: Lay a tiny inspection line
Line three crackers or apple slices on the board. Kids laugh because even snacks need a passport now.
Step 3: Station the guard
Sit the elf at the front of the line with one snack in their hands. They should look like they might confiscate a grape.
Step 4: Stamp one “approved”
Move one slice into a small bowl as the approved pile. The unfinished line is what kids will try to finish for them.
Pro Tips:
- • Use snacks you were serving anyway so nothing goes to waste.
- • A sticky note that says “One each” is painfully accurate comedy.
- • Wipe the board so the elf is not sitting in onion ghosts.
- • Cut grapes if you have little kids; the gag is not worth a choking risk.
