Someone downgraded the dog to the couch and took the premium bed. Your elf is tucked in like they paid for a suite, and the real tenant is going to have thoughts. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Only try this if your dog will not chew or swallow the elf; otherwise pose them beside the bed, not in it, and skip it for known destroyers.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • The dog bed
- • A small blanket or dish towel
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Know your dog
If your dog eats toys, do not put felt in the bed. Park the elf on a nearby shoe instead, “waiting their turn.”
Step 2: Smooth the bed
Pat the cushion so it looks freshly made. A rumpled bed looks like the dog is still in it; a neat bed looks stolen.
Step 3: Tuck them in
Lay the elf on their side with a dish towel as a blanket. Kids lose it because the elf chose the dog’s spot on purpose.
Step 4: Leave a peace offering
Set a dog toy just outside the bed like rent. Then pick up the elf before the real owner clocks in.
Pro Tips:
- • Best after the dog is already asleep in another room.
- • A sticky note that says “Penthouse” is optional and rude in the funniest way.
- • Wash the towel after if the bed is extra furry.
- • Never leave this overnight with a chewer.
