Clothespin Chorus: Laundry Choir

Published on September 28, 2026
The laundry room booked a choir and forgot the singers. Your elf is conducting a row of clothespins, and they are all hitting the same note, which is silence. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Keep the line low and short so nobody walks into it, and leave the washer off.
You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • Five or six clothespins
- • A short string or the drying rack
- • A pencil for a baton
- • Optional: posable holiday elf if you want hands and feet that can hold the pose.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: String a tiny stage
Clip a short line between two rack bars, or use the rack’s own bar. Keep it at elf height, not across a walkway.
Step 2: Clip the choir
Line up five clothespins facing the same way, one slightly tilted like the alto who missed rehearsal. No wet laundry on the line.
Step 3: Raise the baton
Stand the elf in front of the pins with a pencil in one hand. The other hand can rest on the rack so they do not tip.
Step 4: Post the program
A sticky note on the rack that says “La la la!” is the song. Leave the washer door shut.
Pro Tips:
- • Wooden pins look like a choir. Plastic pins look like a drill team. Both work.
- • Five pins is a chorus. Twenty pins is a junk drawer explosion.
- • Face the choir toward the laundry doorway.
- • The pencil goes back to the cup in the morning.

Fridge Poetry Magnet
Your elf rearranged the fridge word magnets into a silly poem. Keep the door shut and use kid magnets, not anything a toddler might try to snack.

Pantry Shelf Takeover
The pantry already has a shelf of cans and dry goods. Tonight the holiday elf is the aisle manager.

Sewing Machine Tailor
Your elf is running a tiny treadle shop while the real sewing machine stays unplugged in the cabinet. The gag is the miniature machine, never a live needle.
