The pantry already has a shelf of cans and dry goods. Tonight the holiday elf is the aisle manager. This is not a cereal shopping run. Use the shelf you can reach from the floor. The mini grocery shelf is optional if you want a tiny storefront in front of the real one. If you already have a posable holiday elf, skip to the recipe. If you don't, start with the setup kit.
Do not stack cans that can fall. Keep the elf off a high shelf you need a chair to reach. Heavy jars stay on the back of the shelf.

You Will Need This:
- • Your holiday elf
- • One pantry or cupboard shelf you can reach without a chair
- • Two or three cans or dry-goods jars (not a cereal wall)
- • Optional: a sticky note that says "Manager on duty"
- • Optional: a mini grocery shelf if you want a tiny storefront
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Set the aisle
Clear a hand-width on a low or middle shelf. Bring two cans forward. Leave cereal boxes out of the shot.
Step 2: Pose the elf
Sit the posable elf beside the cans, or on the mini grocery shelf if you set that on the counter in front of the pantry. One hand on a can lid. They look like they are restocking, not shopping a cereal aisle.
Step 3: Add the tiny details
A manager note on the shelf edge is enough. If you use the mini grocery shelf, stand it on the counter and move two small jars onto it. Do not rebuild a full store.
Step 4: When kids find it
They find it when someone opens the pantry for a snack. Put heavy cans back if they were only pulled forward for the photo.
