Someone ran a very official gear check in the mudroom. Your elf is posted on the bench with a small boot, a pair of kid mittens, and the kind of posture that says the snow day cannot start until inventory is done. - • Optional: tiny umbrella and hat if you want the full weather check on the bench.
- • Optional: tiny wall coat rack if you want somewhere to hang the elf's mittens.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Wipe a dry runway
Lay a dry towel on the bench or just inside the tray so the elf is not sitting in meltwater. Scoot wet boots aside. The gag should look busy, not soggy.
Step 2: Stand one small boot
Set a single kid boot upright like a delivery crate. Pair it with mittens draped on the rim. Leave the rest of the family’s real gear where people can still grab it.
Step 3: Seat the hauler
Sit your elf on the bench with one mitten in hand, as if the next stop is the coat hook. Face the door so the first person in from the garage gets the joke. Keep felt off wet tile.
Step 4: Leave a path through the door
Do not park the scene in the swing of the door. Morning exits still need to happen. After breakfast, mittens go back in the basket and the towel goes in the wash if it got damp.
